What We Do
Maple-Oak Kennels is a private company under contract to the Corporation of Norfolk County to provide animal control services, dog licensing and bylaw enforcement and Maple-Oak Kennels offers shelter services.
Animal Control Officers are special officers empowered to enforce Municipal Animal Bylaws. The Animal Control Officers for Norfolk County are also empowered to issue Provincial Offense Notices (tickets) or a Summons to appear in court to answer to a charge under The Dog Owner's Liability Act as well as charges under the Livestock, Honeybee & Poultry Act when a known dog has killed or injured livestock. The Animal Control Officers for Norfolk County have the authority to seize and impound stray dogs.
Maple-Oak Kennels also provides lost and found services and maintains a list of lost animals, shelter services and adoption centre. Please note that Norfolk County does not offer feline control and does not have any by-laws regarding felines at this time.
